Ysaye Maria Barnwell (born February 28, 1946) is an American singer and composer. Barnwell was a member of the African American a cappella ensemble Sweet Honey in the Rock from 1979 to 2013.[1] In addition to writing many of the group's songs,[2] Barnwell has been commissioned to create music for dance, choral, film, and stage productions. She is also known for being a female bass. Barnwell conducts music workshops around the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, including a workshop she created called "Building a Vocal Community: Singing in the African American Tradition". Innerpeffray Library Innerpeffray Library was the first lending library in Scotland.[1] It is located in the hamlet of Innerpeffray, by the River Earn in Perth and Kinross, 4 miles (6 kilometres) southeast of Crieff. He is best known as the winner of the third season of American reality show Project Runway. Early career In the early 1990s, along with Mike Coulter and John Rozas Sebelia was a member of the band Lifter, which was signed by Interscope Records. The Cross (also known as The Cross: The Arthur Blessitt Story) is a 2009 documentary film directed by Matthew Crouch, in his directorial debut. The film chronicles Arthur Blessitt's Guinness World Record-setting[1] journey of 38,102 miles of forty years "into every nation and major island group of the world"[2] while carrying a twelve-foot wooden cross. Production Twenty years earlier Crouch had made a documentary about Blessitt. Then, in the summer of 2008, Crouch and Blessitt "ran into each other" on the cusp of Blessitt's final trip to Zanzibar, an island off the coast of the continent of Africa, which gave them the idea to create a brand new documentary that would finish telling the story of Blessitt's journey.[3] Box office The Cross opened on March 27, 2009 in 221 theaters, and grossed approximately $300,000.[4] It made $741,557 total.[5] Most reviews of the film criticized it for not offering a balanced, unbiased insight into both Blessitt's journey or the effects of it on his life and family. IAEP is a labor union, a division of NAGE / SEIU Local 5000 (National Association of Government Employees) that represents EMS professionals (EMTs, Paramedics,) working for public, "third service", and private ambulance (Emergency Medical Services, EMT, Paramedic, Dispatcher, Registered Nurses, Support Staff) in self-autonomous[1] union locals. IAEP locals elect their own local governing executive boards and officers and are provided representational, legal, contract, and political support by NAGE but govern and manage their own affairs. History The IAEP was formed in 1991[2] by NAGE when it was observed that a large number of EMTs and Paramedics working for public, private, and third service entities seeking union representation.[3] The creation of IAEP was the first time that parent union NAGE began to represent privately employed workers.[4] IAEP claims that it experienced rapid growth since its founding[5][6] and has set standards for EMS in the labor industry through contracts and representation.[7]
